Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Sunderland (agg 1-2): Black Cats to face Wycombe in play-off final
Patrick Roberts’ injury-time goal earned Sunderland a place in the League One play-off final after they held Sheffield Wednesday to a draw.
The Black Cats arrived at Hillsborough with a 1-0 lead from Friday’s first leg at the Stadium of Light.
Lee Gregory levelled the tie on aggregate when he tapped home Marvin Johnson’s cross with 16 minutes left.
But Roberts slotted home in the third of 10 minutes of stoppage time to send Sunderland to Wembley on 21 May.
Sunderland will now play Wycombe Wanderers in the final for a place in the Championship next season.
