Hosts England got their Euro 2022 campaign off to a winning start by defeating Austria at a packed Old Trafford.
Goalline technology confirmed Beth Mead’s 16th-minute winner, with the Arsenal forward’s chip narrowly crossing the line.
Austria rarely threatened as Sarina Wiegman’s team dominated.
The two sides were watched by 68,871 supporters, a European Women’s Championship record.
